Licensed life insurance agents looking for broader carrier access and no production minimums — The Wood Agency is hiring remote sales representatives to help families across all 50 states review coverage options and apply. The role is 100% remote and built for agents who want to run their own book without being pushed to a quota.
What you'll do
- Reach out to individuals who have already asked for life insurance information and schedule remote appointments
- Ask enough questions to understand each client's situation before presenting anything
- Compare options across The Wood Agency's 43 contracted carriers and explain the differences in plain terms
- Complete applications with clients using carrier e-apps and quoting platforms during or after the appointment
- Track each pending case through underwriting and keep clients updated until the policy is issued
- Log calls, notes, and next steps in the CRM as they happen — not at the end of the day
- Stay current on product and carrier changes through training available to the team on an ongoing basis
- Work within your state's insurance regulations, individual carrier rules, and The Wood Agency's compliance standards
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Active life insurance license in your state of residence — required before any client contact
- Comfortable running full appointments by phone and video, not just warm-up calls
- Able to navigate carrier e-apps or pick up new quoting platforms without hand-holding
- Disciplined about following pending cases through to issue rather than moving on after the application
- Can explain how two similar policies differ without losing a client in the details
- Reliable computer, headset, phone, and stable internet connection
- Works well without a manager checking in daily — this team of 13 agents runs independently
- Comfortable with commission-based income where monthly results vary with your own activity
What we provide
- Contracts across 43 carriers — final expense, term, whole life, IUL, and annuities — as an independent agency, not a captive shop
- An exclusive lead system is available to agents; leads are not assigned or guaranteed
- Weekly team calls, scripts, call reviews, and ride-alongs are available to agents who want them
- 1:1 mentor access for agents working through cases or carrier questions
Compensation
This is a 1099 independent contractor role with The Wood Agency. Compensation is commission-based. No salary or hourly pay is provided. Earnings depend on individual production. Licensed agents who want to sell across a broad carrier portfolio without production minimums are encouraged to apply.
