Spanish-speaking families are often underserved when it comes to protecting what they've built, and the agent who meets them in their own language tends to build something that lasts. The Wood Agency has a 100% remote opening for bilingual sales representatives — independent-contractor work where you set the schedule.
What you'll actually do
- Sell life insurance to families who've already asked to be contacted, remotely, as a 1099 independent contractor compensated by commission
- Reach out to Spanish- and English-speaking families, schedule calls, and learn their situation before presenting any options
- Walk clients through suitable coverage options in their preferred language and complete applications together on the carrier's e-app
- Stay with each case through the carrier's underwriting process, keeping the client informed until the policy is issued
- Log conversations and next steps in the CRM as they happen so nothing slips
- Keep up with your state's insurance regulations, carrier guidelines, and The Wood Agency's compliance standards
Who this is a fit for
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Fluent in both Spanish and English — able to hold a full sales and service conversation in either language
- Holds a state life insurance license or prepared to get one before making sales calls
- Comfortable on video calls and in web-based tools — e-apps and CRM software are part of daily work here
- Self-directed: you follow through on pending cases and follow-up calls without needing daily check-ins
- Background in sales, customer service, or community-facing work is useful, though not a firm requirement
What we provide
- Weekly team calls, scripts, call reviews, and ride-alongs — available to you as you build your practice
- Direct 1:1 mentorship with Ben and Andrea, who run The Wood Agency themselves — no layers between you and them
- Access to 43 carriers licensed across all 50 states, so you can match each family to coverage that genuinely fits their situation
The honest part
This is commission-based 1099 work — no base salary, and earnings are not guaranteed. It suits people who are comfortable with variable income and who don't need someone managing their hours. If a steady paycheck from day one is what your situation calls for, that's a fair reason to look elsewhere. If you're bilingual, independently minded, and want work that lets you genuinely serve families who often don't get the attention they deserve — from wherever you live — The Wood Agency is worth a conversation. Apply and we'll walk you through how it works.
