The Wood Agency is hiring licensed life insurance agents for remote sales work, with 43 carriers to quote from. You already know how to sit with a family and talk honestly about coverage. Here you'd work directly with the owners, Ben and Andrea, on a team of 13 agents rather than inside a downline.
What you'll do
- Sell life insurance remotely as a 1099 independent contractor, paid through commission on the policies you place.
- Quote across 43 carriers and recommend only what suits each family's situation.
- Run appointments by phone and video from wherever you work best, on the schedule you set.
- Consult rather than pitch: ask about budget, goals and the coverage a family already has.
- Show clients where a cash-value policy can support retirement planning, when it genuinely fits.
- Help families in any state where you hold a license; the agency is licensed in all 50.
- Stay the family's agent after the sale, including helping them through a benefit claim.
- Bring real calls to review sessions, and give feedback on your teammates' calls too.
- Join the weekly team call and share what is and isn't working for you.
Qualifications
- An active resident life insurance license in your home state.
- Experience selling life insurance by phone, video or in person.
- Comfortable working without a manager watching your calendar.
- Willing to follow a process and take direct feedback on your calls.
- Honest enough to tell a family when a policy isn't right for them.
- Patient with families who are comparing several options at once.
- Steady through slow weeks, and still calling when the pipeline is thin.
- A quiet place to take calls and an internet connection you can rely on.
What we provide
- A weekly team call with the whole agency, owners included.
- Scripts and call reviews with specific, usable feedback.
- Ride-alongs with an experienced agent when you want a second set of ears.
- A one-on-one mentor, so you never have to work out a hard case alone.
- Exclusive lead systems, available to agents who want them.
Compensation
This is 1099 independent contractor work, compensated by commission on the policies you place. No salary or hourly pay is provided. Earnings depend on individual production: how many families you talk with, and how many of them a policy genuinely fits, so two agents can have very different months. You set your own hours and run your own pipeline. If you need a guaranteed check while you build, tell us on the first call. We'd rather say so now than six months in.
